Doll Clothes Sewing

|

For Christmas this year my girls are getting an Australian Girl doll each so I have started sewing up some clothes for them. They love to change the clothes on their dolls all the time so I thought it would be fun to make a few different outfits (and it will be a nice change for me from changing those fiddly little Polly Pocket clothes all the time!)

I have a few Modkid patterns to make but to start I bought a few patterns from Liberty Jane. I like a lot of their patterns, they are inexpensive and also instant download which is good for someone impatient like me.

These are Button Down Tunics. I'd like to try and find a few of those belts pictured in the pattern, I will have to go hunting.

It has all the little details of a regular sized shirt and I finally worked up the courage to use the buttonholer on my machine. My friend Sara showed me at our retreat this year how to set it all up but I haven't been game but it's so easy to use that I'm not scared of doing buttonholes anymore.

I also made a few mini skirts. I have more outfits planned and have done a few knits as well which are drying at the moment.

I have also done some bag sewing.

I sent these off to Tangled Yarns last week, I didn't want to part with that front top one but I think it's time I had a new knitting bag so I think I might have to make one for myself.

You are so clever Peta! I'm always envious of your talents when I see what you've made. I should probably actually get my machine out one of these days and start trying to get better myself!

OMG those tops are so cute! Woohoo for the buttonholes! A cinch, aren't they!

I blame you if I spend too much time looking at those Liberty Jane patterns tonight.

I knew of American Girl dolls but not the Aussie version. They will be the best dressed dolls around. These two shirts are amazing, such lovely details.
