Journal/Notebook Cover

|

Here is the journal/notebook cover I literally just finished making for my niece for Christmas.

We are giving her a box of assorted stationery/notebooks and I thought it would be nice to include a cover for her. I thought about making her one a few weeks ago when we worked out what her present was going to be but I kind of kept putting it off then I decided a few days ago that if I got it done it would be good otherwise I would make it for her for her birthday. Of course then there was no pressure so I got it done!

So now I am done, I have even wrapped all my presents. Very, very unusual for me. I'm looking forward to the big day - maybe even more than my kids. :) I hope you all have a great Christmas!

Sorello

|

I was lucky enough recently to get a spot in the in the KAL run by the very talented Georgie Hallam of tiKKi. Georgie's patterns are always adorable and one of the best things of all - they are seamless!

I knit the Sorello using some Bendigo Woollen Mills 8 ply that I dyed using Landscape Dyes. This took me way longer than it should have, I won't go into the ripping saga but I think between changing yarns and sizes I have easily knit this three times over.

This is photographed on Jess and it's a bit shorter on her than I like, I think it will fit Emma perfectly next winter though with a long sleeve top underneath. Whether or not she will wear it is another story, she wouldn't even try it on so I could take a photo!

Hertta & SommerLiebe

|

Some summery skirts for this distinctly un-summery weather we're having at the moment. I took these pictures just over an hour ago and now it's so dark I need the lights on inside - it's bucketing rain out there!

Hertta from Ottobre 01/09

I made this one for Emma but I think it might be a bit bulky because of the denim so Jess can have this one. Her extra height will make it sit a bit better.

SommerLiebe, Kreative-Ebook from Farbenmix

These were also both sewn for Emma, she is seriously lacking in summer clothing! Fabrics are some Sandi Henderson Farmer's Market I had sitting in the stash and a cotton print from Spotlight, the waistbands are both stella.

These are also possibly my only contribution to a handmade Christmas (I have a journal cover on the go but my embroidery machine is not playing the game!) These were for Jessica's kinder teachers and I got the recipe and idea from Bakerella. I thought it would be nice to do something different.
