Crafty Mamas Retreat

|

Last weekend was our second Crafty Mamas Retreat, a weekend of sewing, knitting, crochet, coffee and lots and lots of laughter with a group of fabulous ladies.

This year we stayed at Sunnystones Country Retreat which was a fantastic venue, very roomy so we could spread ourselves out and fabulous meals provided. I had a fantastic time and am sad it's over but we're already discussing next year!

I did get some sewing done.

An Ottobre top for Emma, I made one of these last year and she has about worn it to bits! I love the style and length, it's nice and long and super snuggly. The fabric is Stella and a gorgeous knit I bought last year from Crafty Mamas (I can't remember the name). I also made myself an Amelie but I still haven't taken any photos of that.

I also started battling through an Amy Butler Weekender Travel Bag.

Lots of swearing involved in the sewing of this and as you can see it's still not finished, with the bulk of the fabric and Timtex I'm struggling to get the bag under my sewing machine foot! I think I need a break before I tackle this again, probably a long one while I think about what I'm going to do.

Anyway back to reality this week but I came away feeling inspired by all the beautiful projects I saw being created - bring on the next retreat!!

I want to see that bag finished, woman! And I loved the Amelia that you made yourself. The colours and the embroidery were just perfect. Me. Want. One. Had a fabulous time. Roll on retreat 2011!
