Aestlight Shawl

|
Yarn: Yarn Workshop Ultimo
Needles: 4mm

This one has been sitting around for a little while waiting to be blocked, I don't enjoy blocking shawls. I really like this yarn it's a silk/bamboo/wool mix. I originally dyed this a lighter brown and I'm glad I had another go at it, the darker brown is much better.

I'm no good at photographing shawls but anyway you get the idea!

New Summer Hats

|

I made some new summer hats for the kids using my normal go to hat pattern. They chose their own fabrics (well Jessica chose both for the girls), I really love the apple one. I like the wide brim on the pattern, it keeps the sun off the back of their necks.

I also made an oilcloth knitting bag a while ago for my Crafty Mama friend Carolyn.

I have to say it's not the easiest stuff to sew with but masking tape on my machine foot definitely helped.

Jenny Tunic and Licorice Leggings

|

"Jenny" Tunic from Farbenmix and "Licorice" cropped leggings from Ottobre 4/2009. This is my second Jenny tunic for Jessica, I really love the pattern and can see myself making a lot of these for both girls in the future. I also totally adore the legging pattern, they are super quick to whip up and I have plans to make a pile of these for summer.

Unfortunately these were the best pic I could get of Jess wearing them, never mind the stripey socks!

"Jungle" T-shirt

|
Firstly, a month is a long time to be without the internet! I thought I'd get that out of the way first because I know I haven't posted for ages. We moved into our new house last month and while everything went well it's ridiculous to think it can take 3 weeks to get a phone connection and another extra week for the internet. Anyway, whinge done! I've been sewing and knitting without the internet distraction.

"Jungle" T-shirt from Ottobre 3/2009 for Samuel using Stella and Campan Knit from Crafty Mamas.

I cut this out a long time ago but was nervous about the embroidery, I really enjoyed doing it though.

Samuel approves too, I love it that kids don't see the sometimes dodgy stitching.
